Your Itinerary
Day 1 - Cultural Heritage
Koneswaram Temple
Start early to experience morning prayers at this cliff-top Hindu temple. The archaeological museum displays stone carvings from the original 3rd-century temple.
Fort Frederick and Naval Museum
Walk through Dutch colonial fortifications and learn about Trincomalee's strategic importance as a natural harbour through maritime artifacts and ship models.
Uppuveli Beach and Local Markets
Explore the main tourist beach area and browse local markets for spices and handicrafts. Evening is good for watching fishermen return with their catch.
Day 2 - Marine Adventures
Whale Watching Expedition
Deep sea excursion to spot blue whales, sperm whales, and spinner dolphins. Trincomalee waters have high success rates during the March-August season.
Pigeon Island Snorkeling
National park with protected coral reefs, blacktip reef sharks, and hawksbill turtles. Two small islands offer different snorkeling experiences and fish diversity.
Nilaveli Beach Sunset
Pristine white sand beach less crowded than Uppuveli. Good swimming conditions and beachfront restaurants serving fresh seafood caught that day.
Day 3 - Natural Wonders
Kanniya Hot Springs
Seven natural hot water springs believed to have healing properties. Local legend connects them to arrows shot by Ravana, though geological activity is the real cause.
Marble Beach
Secluded beach with unique rock formations and clear water. Less developed than main beaches, good for swimming and exploring tidal pools between rocks.
Lover's Leap and Swami Rock
Dramatic cliff viewpoint near Koneswaram Temple offering sunset views over the Indian Ocean. Historical site where Dutch colonial officer jumped during siege.
