Coral Garden Snorkel

Parrot Rock hosts table corals, staghorn corals, brain corals, and soft coral species including sea fans. The reef supports healthy populations of parrotfish, angelfish, butterflyfish, and occasional reef sharks. Coral coverage exceeds 60% in protected areas.

Moderate snorkeling experience is recommended as sites include deeper waters and stronger currents. Participants should be comfortable swimming in open water and using snorkeling equipment. Basic swimming lessons or shallow water practise is advised before booking.

Regular sunscreen contains oxybenzone and octinoxate chemicals that bleach corals and disrupt marine ecosystems. Reef-safe alternatives use zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. Operators strictly enforce this policy to protect Mirissa's coral reefs for future generations.
